WOMI the wave of the future?
Social network advertising firm, SocialMedia has launched a new type of ad called ‘WOMI’ or Word Of Mouth Impression. The new type of add solicits a call to action by integrating a poll or an input form, which collects a user response and let’s friends seeing the same add know what the user has inputted. This is a fantastic step forward as far as generating qualified leads from social networks is concerned.
The ads use the standard industry sizes making the ads perfect for implementation on most social networks. They also tap into a users social graph to target their friends. What does this all mean for driving user interest? Seeing a friends name in an add and their opinion on that add will definitely drive curiosity and more click throughs.
According to Jason Kincaid at TechCrunch, the research firm Dynamic Logic found that the WOMI adds increased awareness, favorability, and purchases. If you are thinking about purchasing inventory on a social network, then WOMI might be the way to go.
